“Chest Harnesses for Every Occassion” with Miss_Acacia @ High Tech Hall (Upstairs)

Then add some alternative options to your tool kit of ties. This class will cover several variations on popular chest harnesses that are good for suspension and multiple transitions. We will cover an arms front chest harness, and an arms free chest harness and if time allows a tengu harness. All with different possibilities for suspension or ground work.

Oct 5 @ 10:00 am – 11:30 am
“Put a Bow On It: Upline Management and Rope Handling” with Cynna @ Williamson 1/2 (Downstairs)

Someone once told me, “Suspension is dangerous because it is easy”. We all know the basics of a pully system, but knowing the proper hangers, lock offs, and rope handling is a game changer. This class will cover hangers, locking off from the top and bottom, quick releases, and cleaning up excess rope. We will take a look into each important breakdown to create a smooth tie for tops and bottoms. This class is a great introduction for new riggers and a refreshing reminder for those familiar with suspension.

Learn some new tricks for an old friend, your favorite piece of rope. Bring one 15-30ft piece of rope for playing along and having a great time!

The suspension was excellent. But now they’re on the ground. Is the scene over? Doesn’t have to be. The rope is still there. The power dynamic is still there. Maintain tension and connection until the last rope is off. Transition smoothly from rope on the body to aftercare. Untie with intent.

We will discuss what makes a futomomo suspension worthy as well as some floor variations. So, let Lexa teach you the concepts, possibilities and variations to build off of and create a ton of different possibilities and variations.

“Rope Foundations” with Tempo and Blue_Baby_ @ Travis (Upstairs)

In a house-building analogy, when you build a house you always start with a foundation. The wonderful thing about foundations in rope is that you use it every time you pick up rope. This class starts with a lecture on rope vocabulary, materials, basic anatomy and physiology, and safety concerns. The class then moves into a hands-on workshop with what Tempo calls “HOLMS”, the five knots that Tempo uses in all his scenes.

Materials:
Students are encouraged to bring a safe cutting device and at least one (1) piece rope at least 15-30 ft long. Also suggested is a mat or blanket for sitting on the floor.

This class will cover some of the basics on how to suspend yourself with rope. We’ll go over safety considerations, good beginning ties to experiment with, things to consider in a solo scene, and troubleshooting. For whatever reason you want to pull yourself in the air, this class will give you the fundamentals in how to start achieving those goals.

Oct 5 @ 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm
“A TK – What I Tie and Why” Lexa Grace and Shakti Bliss Bunny @ Travis (Upstairs)

In this class we will go over the TK pattern that Lexa ties most often, but more importantly, we will go over the reasons behind each component. This is not only a pattern class but a deeper dive into understanding how and why this tie functions the way that it does. We will focus on tension and rope handling skills as we tie, working to create a sustainable TK while being able to still stay engaged with our partners. Students should know how to tie a non collapsible single column tie and should be familiar with basic frictions.

Then we will talk specifically about the changes that we face when age, weight, illness/injury, and even medications are involved. I will talk about my journey and the things that have helped or inspired me and my partner.

“I Wanna Be Upside Down” with Kim Lee @ High Tech Hall (Upstairs)
Oct 5 @ 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm
“I Wanna Be Upside Down” with Kim Lee @ High Tech Hall (Upstairs)

One of the main reasons that people get into self-suspension is to invert themselves in rope whenever they want. This skill is impressive to show off at parties and it also tends to provide unique rope-y feels. There are many different methods to achieve these poses, some a lot harder than others. In this class, Kim will go over strategies for managing multiple uplines and tips for how to save your energy with whichever method you choose. She will demonstrate a hip harness inversion as well as a single futo inversion. There will also be time at the end of this class to lab out some of the techniques that were shown. Kim will be available to answer any questions and give feedback.

“Inside the Crucible: Playing with Ordeals” with Xanthine @ Llano (Upstairs)
Oct 5 @ 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm
“Inside the Crucible: Playing with Ordeals” with Xanthine @ Llano (Upstairs)

We often call BDSM ‘play’, and shy away from exposing the therapeutic, cathartic side of what we do. But what if you want to explore? If you want to integrate spiritual, emotional release and transformation into a scene, this class aims to give you tools to arm yourself for a journey into the dark part of play. We will learn to use tools, psychology, and environmental factors to induce altered states, push past, surprise ourselves with what mind, body, and connection is capable of achieving.

“Strong Enough” with Cynna and Worldsokayestropebunny @ Williamson 1/2 (Downstairs)
Oct 5 @ 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm

(Made Just For Ropecraft!)
Body size should never be a prerequisite when it comes to rope, whether you are a top or a bottom. This class will provide strategies for tops smaller than their bottoms on how to create a supportive tie and how to lift their bottom without posing any injury to themselves. WORopeBunny will explain how to accommodate ties for bigger bodies and what they can do to support Cynna throughout a suspension. As they start to take Cynna in the air, they will go over ways on how to maneuver up-lines to keep their bodies safe and neutral to avoid any injuries. Cynna will talk though how she processes the difficult tie and engages to help her tops any way she can.
After the demonstration the class will have the opportunity to lab this tie and work together to make tying bigger bodies more accessible.

Pre-reqs:
Both riggers and bottoms should be experienced in suspension and be able to communicate through ties, know a suspension worthy chest harness, preferably a TK, have at least 8-12 pieces of rope, and have safety tools

“Acrobatic Dynamic Suspension” with Worldsokayestropebunny and Gentleebrutal @ Williamson 1/2 (Downstairs)

We will show the best practices for the people tying and people in rope. Worldsokayestropebunny and Gentleebrutal will go over different definitions of consent and model it, as well, before tying. This is a great concept of tying for performances and/or just drawing attention to your scene in a play space. The people in the rope fill strong and powerful and the people tying feel proud to see their partner strength.

“Navigating “Failure” with Cynna and Yumyumpanda” @ High Tech Hall (Upstairs)
Oct 5 @ 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm

What is your initial thought when you leave a tie feeling like you’ve ‘failed’? How do you deal with these feelings? How do you support your partner? How do you need your partner to support you?
In this class we will take a traditional and challenging face down suspension, navigate where we have ‘failed’, and figure out where to go from there! What support do you need physically, emotionally, as a top or as a bottom, to accomplish a commonly known-difficult tie.
This class will be broken into three segments: discussion on failure and how to navigate that feeling, attempting a face down suspension, and finishing the class finding modifications and accommodations to make this tie just for you.

Pre-reqs:
Both riggers and bottoms should be experienced in suspension and be able to communicate through ties, know a suspension worthy chest harness, have at least 8-12 pieces of rope, and have safety tools

This suspension will be done in a way to avoid most major nerve bundles to minimize risk and allow for more movement in the rope. This class is about having fun and staying connected with your partner. It can be playful an torturous all at once! It is a great beginner suspension class, for both top and bottom, that provides a structure or concept that can be applied to many possibilities or expressions in the future. Students should have a basic understanding of non-collapsible single and double column ties. Previous experience with upline attachment and lock off recommended. Students should have 6 lengths of rope, a point to work off of (ring, rigging plate, etc) and a cutting tool.

The Ropenspace @ Williamson Conference Center
Oct 6 @ 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm
The Ropenspace @ Williamson Conference Center

Imagine a room full of people sharing one passion: rope bondage. Students, teachers, enthusiasts, tops, bottoms, newbies, “Old Knotty” types. All together in the same place.

Imagine the freedom to ask all of them – the entire room – any question you had about rope. Imagine being able to tell them about your particular passion – suspension, predicament, cbt, performance, left-handed traditional Celtic weaves.

Whatever it is, they want to hear you share it.

And they’re going to share their passions, too. Japanese bondage. Arms-free chest harnesses. Orgasmic hip weaves. Agonizing torture ties. Leather and rope and service and sex and consent and nasal passage predicament play.

Yeah. That actually happened.

Imagine a space where instead of the staff telling you what to learn, they ask ”What do you want to do?” And then help you figure out how to do it.

Imagine a space where all this happens for hours, classes changing into discussions flowing into skillshares with rope, rope, and more rope.

That’s what a ROPENSPACE is – a completely unique experience custom-made to fit your interests, your skills, your passion. Of course, there is one thing that you have to do to make sure that happens:

You have to be there.
